Merchant Solutions Integrations: Product Data Version 1

The catalog.xml file is an export of your store's product information entered in the Catalog Manager or Store Editor. Most importantly, it contains a listing of your products and product information such as description, caption, pricing, options, URL, and more. The file is updated with each publish of the Store Editor or Catalog Manager.

DTD and Sample

The Catalog.xml file conforms to the Catalog DTD. You can also review a sample catalog.xml file.

Field	Description
gift-certificate	Set to "yes" or "no" to reflect if an item is a gift certificate.
product-url	The url to the item product page.
need-payment	Set to "yes" or "no" to reflect if an item is free or not.
name	The contents of the Name field (for example iPod Nano 2GB).
headline	The contents of the Headline field (for example Super Summer Savings on Widgets).
sale-price	The sale price for an item as set by a merchant.
inset	A secondary product image uploaded by the merchant.
taxable	Set to "yes" or "no" to indicate if the item is taxable.
in-yshopping	Set to "yes" or "no" to indicate if the item should be included in Yahoo! Shopping for merchants enrolled in Yahoo! Product Submit.
label	The contents of the Label field (for example Special Savings on Widgets). If supplied, used as the text when item is one of the specials on the home page (index) if you have "Specials-format" set to "As-Thumbnails"
ship-weight	The shipping weight of an item as entered by the merchant.
price	Contains the price of a specific item.
need-bill	Set to "yes" or "no" to reflect if an item when added to the cart requires the buyer to complete the Billing Information section in checkout.
caption	Contains the contents of the Caption field (typically a lengthy product description).
need-ship	Set to "yes" or "no" to reflect if an item when added to the cart requires the buyer to complete the Shipping Information section in checkout.
image	A full-size product image uploaded by the merchant.
orderable	Set to "yes" or "no" to indicate if the item can be ordered.
options	The options available for an item (for example a shirt may come in small, medium and large).
download	Set to "yes" or "no" to indicate if the item is a downloadable good.
icon	A thumbnail-sized product image uploaded by the merchant.
code	The code assigned to an item (typically a SKU or item number).
abstract	Contains the contents of the Abstract field (typically a shorter product description such as for a section page linking to a product page).
availability	Contains the value for availability set by the merchant for the item (for example "Usually ships the same business day").
"custom-value"	Contains the value of custom fields created by the merchants related to a product.
